We bet you have lots of questions about bathtub refinishing (or reglazing).
Reglazing is the process of making porcelain and ceramic surfaces and fixtures look like they just came out of the box. With reglazing, old bathtubs and tiles can be brought back to their original shine right where they are, in just a few hours, at a fraction of the cost of replacing them!!!
Your bathtub probably doesn’t look like it did when you first bought it because you’ve used harsh, abrasive cleaners on it over the years. Also, the surface has become so porous that it is almost impossible, if not very hard, to keep clean. The roughened surface soaks up dirt and soap scum the way a sponge soaks up water.
Someone may have dropped a heavy object on your tub and chipped or otherwise damaged the surface. Maybe people have used too much drain cleaner or other chemicals and done a lot of damage to the tub. Who knows what might have made the tub very dirty? Your tile might be showing its age by cracking, changing color, or losing its shine. Maybe the grout between your tiles is old and hard to keep clean, or maybe you just don’t like the color of your tub or tiles.
All of these problems can be fixed by reglazing. Our technicians can fix any areas that are broken or chipped. Then, they will use our industrial cleaning process to get the surface ready for re-glazing. Next, we’ll cover and protect all nearby items with masking tape and set up ventilation equipment to keep overspray and smells under control. Then we put on our special adhesive coating and let it dry. While we are refinishing the tub, we install our “No Slip” bottom to keep people from slipping and falling. The last step is to put on and chemically bond our special synthetic porcelain finish. The new surface is smooth and shines. There are no dangerous chemical residues or messes in your home. Mildew can’t grow because the grout lines are sealed.
Why replace that old bathtub or tile just because the color is old or the surface is worn? We can make them look like new again for a fraction of the cost of replacing them, IN ANY COLOR!!
Reglazing VS. Replacement
With traditional replacement, getting rid of the old bathtub is the hardest part. In order to do this, parts of the bathroom floor, walls, and tiles must be torn up. Putting in a new bathtub often takes more time and money because the old plumbing is in the wrong place. When you add up the cost of a new bathtub, floor and wall materials, ceramic tiles, lumber, a carpenter, a plumber, and a tile setter, it’s easy to see how replacing a bathtub can cost thousands of dollars, not to mention the mess, noise, and hassle of having workers in your home for days or even weeks. Lastly, it can be annoying to not be able to use your own bathroom for a long time.
With reglazing, it takes less than a day to bring old fixtures and tiles back to their original shine. You don’t have to deal with the hassle and downtime of replacing it. Reglazing can save you up to 80% of the cost of buying new windows. (By the way, most new bathtubs aren’t as good as the ones they replace.) Even the color of your fixtures and tiles can be changed. You can get the bathroom of your dreams without having to go through the nightmare of replacing it.
